Sling 8470 Engine
The new engine for 24-8470 has arrived, ready for installation in the coming months. The current engine will be offered for sale with a total time of approximately 1950 hours. Price will be $6000. Expressions of interest for this engine are now open.
Presentation Night, 19th Nov
The annual HDFC Presentation Dinner will be conducted in the hangar on Saturday 19th November commencing 6pm. Everyone is welcome to this gala event, where we recognise, applaud and celebrate member achievements. Tickets are available online at a cost of $40 per adult and $15 per child under 14.
Race Night, 4th Nov
The HDFC’s answer to the Melbourne Cup will be conducted on Friday 4th November. Bar opens 5pm with racing just after 6pm. Dress up in your swanky race gear with prizes for Best Dressed and Best Hat. Bring food for a shared smorgasbord dinner. This is a fun night so bring your family and friends. Watch for further details on how we race.
CASA Safety Seminar, 29th Nov
This year’s seminar is entitled “Non Controlled Aerodromes – Manage your Risk”. A very relevant topic for PMQ aviators. All pilots are encouraged to attend, especially those less experienced.
The seminar will be conducted in the HDFC Clubhouse on Tuesday 29th November from 6pm to 8pm. Food provided. Reserve your spot by registering online now.
Cirrus Visit, 18th Nov
Want to buy a Cirrus? Here is your chance to check out a brand new one. The latest model will be on display in front of our hangar from 8am to 10am on Friday 18th November.
Monthly Pilot Proficiency Day (PPD)

PKynan Schneider
Congratulations to Kynan for achieving his Commercial Pilots Licence at Fly Oz in Cowra. Kynan learnt to fly with the HDFC after receiving one of our flying scholarships. We wish Kynan all the best for a bright future in the aviation industry.
AUSFLY
A break in the weather allowed 4 aircraft with club members to attend the annual AusFly Fly-In in Narromine. A fun weekend of aviation indulgence was enjoyed by all.
OSHKOSH 2023
Several HDFC members will attend the EAA Airventure at Oshkosh during July next year. Anyone interested in coming along please make contact. Accommodation at the University of Wisconsin is now open to bookings.
Working Bee, 12th Nov
Calling all volunteers. A working bee will be conducted on Saturday morning, 12th November commencing 8am. The purpose is to clean the hangar and clubhouse in preparation for the Annual Presentation Dinner.

2023 Calendars
It's that time of the year again when Veronica asks members with aircraft to send photos to be placed in HDFC's 2023 calendars. You can email photos to her or if you wish to have your aircraft photos taken please email to marketing@hdfc.com.au.
The Hastings District Flying Club is where people who believe in your flying dreams come together since 1958. HDFC has a long and proud history dating back to 1958. It operates a flying club and Recreational Aviation flying school out of Port Macquarie on the New South Wales Mid North Coast, with a hangar and club house at the airport.
