Fly/Drive Away to Palmers Island, Yamba

This year, HDFC will be joining Gatton Airpark Flyers for the Fly/Drive-In to Palmers Island, Yamba.
Palmers Island is situated on the banks of the Clarence River near the popular holiday destination of Yamba. Yamba was voted the Best Town in Australia by Australian Traveller Magazine (2009).
Note: This Getaway is from Friday 12th September to Sunday 14th September 2025 and will proceed regardless of the weather. Check out the itinerary below. Accommodation is limited. It is important you book ASAP.

Friday 12th September 2025
Free and easy afternoon to settle into your accommodation, explore Yamba, enjoy a coffee, or do some shopping. Join the Gatton Airpark Flyers at 6pm at Wobbly Chook Brewing Co.
Saturday 13th September 2025
On Saturday Morning. gather at McIntyres Field, Palmers Island. Enjoy morning tea and some scenic flying from the pristine grass strip. BBQ Lunch at the field is at $15 per person. You are free to explore Yamba and I am sure the ladies would love to go shopping. Dinner will be at either the Yamba Shores Tavern (courtesy bus) or the Bowling Club Bistro.
Sunday 14th September 2025
Sunday Breakfast: Your choice of Bacon/Egg Rolls at the Aston Motel BBQ area ($5 per person) or at one of the cafes. The rest of the day is up to you. Travel home or further explore.

Several members are driving up and will have cars available. There are also two courtesy cars available for $30 each and returned fuel full.
